Facilities

MMS was founded in 1988 and as such has gained a vast amount of experience in repairing and dry docking. To date, we have carried out over 1,200 dry dockings and over 10,000 separate repair contracts. Our customers range from single vessel operators to large multinational shipping companies. No job is too small or too big.

DRY DOCKS

Both dry docks are supplied with:

  • Fresh and Ballast water.
  • Sewage collection facilities.
  • Waste Oil Collection facility.
  • Dock lighting.
  • Stage access platforms, adjustable cradle access platforms, and forklift trucks.
  • Dry Dock 1 has an adjustable cradle which is ideal for vessel lengthening jobs.
  • Dry Dock 2 has a specialist tug boat cradle designed by RMD with weight/load drawings to accommodate specialist drop down tugs.

Repair Berths

Repair Berths are non-tidal, providing ship owners with safe mooring. Both berths are supplied with:

  • Shore power.
  • Fresh and ballast water.
  • Sewage collection facility.
  • Waste oil collection facility.
  • Cranage, access platforms and forklift trucks.
  • MMS fenders, manufactured in house and incorporating recycled aircraft tyres – Quay Berth East only.

Workshops

A dedicated stores and compound with a comprehensive range of stock and equipment is located on site.

Fully equipped fabrication, engineering, propeller and prop shaft, machine and carpentry workshops are located on site and within close proximity to both dry docks.

Materials

We offer our customers the guaranteed reassurance by offering stock materials of certified and class approved bronze, stainless, and mild steel, ensuring fast repairs are carried out.

Stores

A dedicated stores and compound with a comprehensive range of stock and equipment is located on site. Storage is available for every vessel under repair.

Secure Propeller Storage

We can offer safe and secure storage for propellers in our designated lockable container and can arrange crane and transportation lift services if requested.

Superintendents’ office

Superintendents are provided with a well-equipped private office during their vessel’s repair at MMS. The offices are within metres of the dry docks. The offices have Wi-Fi, heating, WC, and wash basin, complimentary coffee, tea, and biscuits, and undercover car parking.
